Impact
a drop becomes a wave and
the vibration rocks the ocean
a sun rises into mourning as the
rays and anguish paint our walls
i want to hold you tighter than this
to wrap my body around your heart
to absorb the scars and wounds
that scratch,
engraving the soft encasing —
an armor of love and flesh defends,
diluting the corrosion
seeking your soul
your light effuses,
stretching it’s fingers,
flickers of warmth inviting us in
i don’t want the glow to falter
or wane,
so i’ll curl myself around the source
and be the barrier to your pain
